Artarmon, NSW Australia -- Jamie Russell (DOB 21/2/2012) of North Rothbury, NSW Australia managed to complete a backflip on his scooter by traveling down a ramp from a height of 2.5 m. to a timber boxed ramp, landing with both feet on the scooter deck and successfully rolling away with both feet still on the scooter deck at Warehouse 11 Studio in Artarmon, Sydney New South Wales on June 11 2018, at just 6 years old, thus setting the new world record for the Youngest person to backflip on a scooter to a timber ramp.

Warehouse 11 has been developed to offer skaters, BMX riders, in-line skaters and scooter riders a safe environment, with world class ramp infrastructure, supervised sessions, and First Aid trained staff.

"Too specialized for Guinness World Records", says Mrs.Kim Russell, Jamie's Mom, who contacted in the end the Academy of World Records to obtain the recognition for his son's achievement.

Jamie's Mom,Mrs. Kim Russell, says : "We are extremely proud of Jamie for what he has achieved at the age of just 6 years old. Jamie always had good motor and balance skills from a very young age. Once he started riding scooters, he was never scared to have a go and wanted to do the tricks the older kids were doing. He has always shown extreme determination, once he has his mind set he never gives up. We have traveled all around Australia to a lot of different skate parks and will continue to do so to support him. "

Jamie Russell , who is 6 years old, attends Rosary Park Catholic School and his brother Jake, who is 16 years of age, attends Hunter Trade College.

His brother Jake who is 16 years old is very proud of Jamie and also helps and encourages him to try new tricks.

Jamie's school Rosary Park Catholic School is very supportive and encourages all sporting activity and achievements. The students are also behind Jamie.

Jamie: "I first started riding scooters for fun at the age of 4 years old. By the age of 5 I had managed to do a backflip into the airbag at Parrey Skatepark at Cardiff NSW. I then moved to the 4.2m ramp and completed a backflip to the resi ramp on 21/3/2018.

"Then after lots of practice and help from my good friend, Spencer Chermside, who is currently ranked Australian No.1 pro champion and world no.11, I traveled to Warehouse 11 Studio in Artarmon, Sydney NSW where I successfully land my back-flip to the timber boxed ramp.

"I was a bit nervous at first being only 6 years old but was extremely happy when everyone told me what i had actually achieved by doing this trick. I am extremely thankful to Spencer and everyone else who encouraged and believed in me for doing this trick. I would also like to say a huge thank you to Avoka clothing for their sponsorship."

 They are both members of the Australasian Scooter Association and had entered the 2017/2018 ASA competition. This consisted of 5 qualifying rounds at various skate parks in NSW including Korrupt Skate Park Campbelltown, Riders Paradise Tuggerah, Warehouse 11 Artarmon and Slam Factory Tuggerah.

Jamie achieved 3 x 1st places, 1x 2nd place and 1 x 3rd place.

Jake achieved various places including 3rd place from The Shed Skate Park in Melbourne.
