Green River, Utah, United States--A gigantic watermelon slice is stored in an open-air shed in the parking lot of the John Wesley Powell River Museum, in Green River, Utah; it was built to help celebrate Green River, Utah's Watermelon Days festival; the 20-foot-long, 10-foot-tall wooden watermelon slice sets the world record for being the World's Largest Watermelon Slice Sculpture, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
Salt Lake City, Utah, United States--The World’s first Kentucky Fried Chicken is located at 3890 S. State Street, in Salt Lake City, Utah; the original restaurant was demolished in 2004, and a new, more modern one was built in its place; the restaurant has a bunch of memorabilia displayed, including this original Colonel Sanders suit and sets the world record for being the World's First KFC, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
Salt Lake City, Utah, United States--In addition to being the biggest store at a whopping 235,000 square feet, the Salt Lake City Costco was also the first ever to serve as a hybrid location; with the additional space, Costco can offer 2,700 items including pallets of soft drinks and whole lambs and roasting pigs and it sets the world record for being the World’s Largest Costco Store, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
Mitchell, South Dakota, United States--The Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota, was built as a way to prove to the world that South Dakota had a healthy agricultural climate; during it’s over 100 years of existence, it has become known worldwide and now attracts more than a half a million visitors annually and it sets the world record for being the World's First Corn Palace, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
Montrose, South Dakota, United States--The Porter Sculpture Park, located just off Interstate 90 in Montrose, South Dakota, has over 60 sculptures in the Park; the largest sculpture in the park is a 60-foot-tall (18 m) bull head; this sculpture took three years to build, weighs 25 tons, and is equal in size to the heads of Mount Rushmore; it sets the world record for being the World’s Largest Bull’s Head Sculpture, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
Hill City, South Dakota, United States--Completed in just 10 days by seven wood artists from around the country, Smokey Bear stands 30 feet tall and is 25 feet wide; located in Hill City, South Dakota, it sets the world record for being the World's Largest Smokey Bear Sculpture, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
